Parasailing, also known as parascending is a recreational activity, adrenaline sport, when a person with a parachute is being pulled by a motorboat over the sea. In the height approximately 150 metres above the sea you can enjoy the view at the sea and beach. Motorboat is strong enough to pull more persons at the same time. Parasailing usually lasts 10-15 minutes.
Snorkelling & Diving
Snorkelling is very simple and pleasant vacation activity, for which you do not need any course or training. All you need is a snorkel, facemask and fins. If you are just starting with snorkelling, it is good to try putting on the mask, also try its tightness, and breathing in the shallow water first, before you go further and enjoy amazing underwater world.
If you feel like a fish in the water, it is time to explore the best spots for diving in Andalucia which include Cabo de Gata, Almuñecar, Estepona, Tarifa, Nerja, Conil or El Rompido. Especially waters around Gibraltar offer a variety of reefs, wrecks and underwater landscapes for diving. Diving course is offered by PADI (the Professional Association of Diving Instructors), and after successfull completion of the course, participants receive Open Water Diver certification card, which is internationally recognised.
Rowing is a type of recreational or competitive sport, which is very popular along the River Guadalquivir mostly in Córdoba and Sevilla, where many of competitions and training camps are held. The main equipment you will need are skiff and oars. Rowing is mostly performed on wide, flat and straight waters, but also on lakes or reservoirs.
Andalucia with its pleasant temperatures in winter and hot in the summer, offers perfect surfing conditions. You can find the most consistent waves on the beaches between Cadiz and Tarifa. The best season for surfing here is mostly in spring and autumn. If you have never surf before, don´t worry, the conditions are perfect both for beginners and advanced surfers. Standup paddleboarding or shortened SUP, is fairly new, fun and simple sport which you would definitely like. While paddleboarding you are standing on a big board, using paddles to move forward, it is basically like a walk on the water.
Wakeboarding is a water-based sport that involves riding on a wakeboard that is pulled by boat or cable-carriage on the water. It was developed as a combination of waterskiing, snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing techniques. The wakeboard looks like a small surfboard with foot straps fitted to the upper side. Besides wakeboard you would need also vest, helmet and swimsuit or neoprene.
Windsurfing is a sport in which a rider on a 2-4 meters long board uses wind-powered sail to move around the water. It is basically surfing and yachting combined. At higher speeds the float can be controlled simply by tilting like a skateboard.
